Talon Hook™ Secure Mounting System

Patent Pending (AU 2026900052)

SECURE FEEDER MOUNTING

Locks your feeder in place. On purpose.

Most cage feeders rely on open wire hooks. They hang by gravity and hope for the best.

Talon Hooks™ are engineered to do the opposite. The geometry actively resists lift, twist, and accidental dislodgement.

COMMON FAILURE MODES

Standard cup and wire hook styles are designed to hang, not to hold position.

They allow:

Icon
Feeders to sag under weight and tilt forward
Icon
Gaps to form between the feeder and cage bars
Icon
Birds to push into or squeeze through those gaps
Icon
Rotation and swinging during feeding

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN

Engineered for security

Unlike open cup hooks, Talon Hooks™ require deliberate rotation and lifting to remove.
Normal bird movement cannot dislodge them.

Each Talon Hook™ features:

Icon
A curled retaining profile that loops over a horizontal cage bar
Icon
A re-entrant geometry that actively resists upward motion
Icon
A threaded shank for rigid attachment to the feeder body
Icon
A flange seat that distributes load and prevents wobble

ENGINEERED SOLUTION

Talon Hooks™ are designed to hold the feeder level and tight against the cage

The curled, re-entrant profile engages the cage bar in a way standard hooks cannot. Instead of allowing the feeder to sag, the geometry pulls the feeder inward and maintains consistent contact with the cage.

The geometry is intentional:

Icon
Downward weight increases stability
Icon
Upward force creates mechanical interference
Icon
The feeder remains level under load
Icon
Gaps between the feeder and cage are minimised

Dinosaur proof 🦜 Spending the extra money to get a better quality build for our young male Alexandrine has been worth it. Of course he tried to destroy it the first couple of days, but gave up, now just eats what we put in it, not the Seedcube 😀

16 years of picking up seed is finally over! Wasn’t sure our Gallah would be willing to venture into his new Seed Cube but after some initial hesitancy the call of cashews was too much. No seed drop. Fantastic product and good delivery to NZ.

I have Red tail black cockatoos and a blue and gold Macaw. I was very sceptical. I can’t tell you how impressed I am. These are the best of the best. They are saving so much food. Which cuts down cost greatly

What's to love?

Cleaner feeds, less waste.

Feeding should not mean sweeping every day. Seed Cube keeps spray, husks and crumbs contained so food stays where it should.

You can load real foods your bird loves, even the messy ones, and the Cube holds the fallout inside. Floors stay cleaner, bowls stop overflowing, and you waste less food.

The result is a calmer routine for you and a longer, more settled feed for your bird.

Cleaner feeds, less waste.

Safe, tough, and secure

Your bird’s safety comes first. Seed Cube uses food safe acrylic and stainless steel hardware that will not rust or leach into food.

Edges are smooth, walls are thick, and the Talon-Hook system gives a locked in hold that resists bumps. Universal hooks are included for tricky cages and creative installs.

Mount inside or out on cages or aviaries. Our Large size is proven with strong beaks like macaws and cockatoos, so you can trust it in daily use.

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about Talon Hooks™ and secure feeder mounting.

Standard hooks are designed to hang. Talon Hooks™ are designed to lock. The curled, re-entrant geometry uses load and cage contact to resist lift, rotation, and sagging instead of relying on gravity alone.

They are designed for cages and aviaries with horizontal bars, which covers the majority of standard bird cages. If your cage uses unusual bar layouts, our universal hooks are included as an alternative.

Normal bird movement cannot remove the feeder. Upward force increases mechanical interference with the cage bar, making accidental lift or dislodgement unlikely during feeding or climbing.

Yes. The geometry pulls the feeder inward and keeps it level under load. This reduces forward tilt and prevents gaps forming between the feeder and the cage.

Yes. Removal requires deliberate lifting and rotation by hand. It is secure by design, but not permanent.

Yes. Every Seed Cube includes both Talon Hooks™ and standard universal hooks so you can choose the best option for your setup.

Talon Hooks™ are patent pending in Australia.

Patent Pending (AU 2026900052).

Yes. Talon Hooks™ are designed for internal cage mounting and external mounting through feeder access doors.

They are manufactured from stainless steel for strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability.

Seed Cube vs a cheap feeder

Meet the founders

A small Aussie family brand, built to make feeding cleaner.

Hi, we are Russell and Peita. Seed Cube started in our home with one very determined Alexandrine. He is strong, smart, and tests everything. After years of cracked plastic, slipped mounts and daily clean ups, we decided to build something that would actually hold up.

We built a feeder we would trust for the toughest birds, set our benchmark at macaw level, and refined it until it felt right for everyday use.

There are now more than 10,000 Seed Cubes out in the world. What matters most to us are the messages from owners saying feeding feels easier and homes feel calmer. We do not build them to be cheap. We build them so you do not have to worry.
