We understand things don't always go to plan. This policy covers change-of-mind returns, our Fitment Guarantee, and warranty claims so you know exactly where you stand.
🛡️ Fitment Guarantee
Our Fitment Guarantee ensures your Seed Cube can be securely mounted to your cage. We stand behind the design. If a workable mounting method exists, your Seed Cube will fit.
The Fitment Guarantee applies only prior to any exposure to a bird environment. Once the product has been placed inside or around a cage, the guarantee no longer applies and standard hygiene rules take over.
What the Fitment Guarantee Covers
The Fitment Guarantee applies strictly to physical cage compatibility. A product is considered compatible if it can be installed in any stable configuration, including:
- Internal mounting
- External mounting
- Alternative mounting points such as a different door panel or bowl ring location
If a workable installation method exists, the product is considered compatible.
Fitment is based on whether a stable installation is achievable, not the method or effort required.
Customer Responsibilities
To qualify under the Fitment Guarantee, you must:
- Assess your cage type before purchase
- Follow all installation instructions provided
- Test both internal and external mounting methods before raising a claim
- Provide clear photos of your cage and attempted fitment when requested
- Be willing to make minor cage adjustments where required, including using a different door panel, removing or adjusting bowl rings, or repositioning the mount
- Contact us before placing the product inside or around a cage if you are unsure about fitment. Once the product has been exposed to a bird environment, it cannot be returned
If a viable mounting solution exists using these methods, the product is considered compatible and the guarantee is met.
Cages Not Covered
The Seed Cube requires a flat mounting surface. The Fitment Guarantee does not apply to:
- Round cages
- Curved or dome-style cage walls
- Cages without a flat mounting area
- Cages with non-standard bar spacing where no stable mount can be achieved
If your cage does not provide a suitable mounting surface, the product is considered unsuitable for your setup and is not covered under this guarantee.
Future Cage Purchases
The Fitment Guarantee applies only to the cage you own at the time of purchase. If you change cages, upgrade, or buy a new cage after receiving your Seed Cube, compatibility is not guaranteed and is not covered.
What the Fitment Guarantee Does Not Cover
- Change of mind
- Bird behaviour, preference, or refusal to use the feeder
- Products that have been placed inside or around a bird's cage
- Situations where a workable mounting solution exists but has not been attempted
- Situations where reasonable mounting adjustments have not been attempted
- Damage caused by incorrect installation or unstable mounting
- Future or replacement cages purchased after the Seed Cube
Resolution Process
If a genuine fitment issue is confirmed after all mounting options have been attempted:
- We may provide guidance to achieve a workable installation
- We may offer an exchange or store credit where appropriate
Conditions:
- Product must be unused, uncontaminated, and in original packaging
- Photo verification of the cage and attempted fitment is required
- Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer
- Store credit is the standard resolution; refunds are not offered
📦 Returns Policy
30-Day Returns
We offer a 30-day return window from the date your order is delivered. All approved returns are issued as store credit only. Refunds to the original payment method are not offered under any circumstance.

- ✅ All international orders (customer arranges return shipping)
Return Conditions
To be eligible for store credit, your item must be:
- ✔ Completely unused and in brand-new condition
- ✔ Free from food residue, bird droppings, fingerprints, dust, or other contamination
- ✔ In original packaging with all parts and inserts included
- ✔ Never placed inside or around a bird's cage, even briefly
🚫 Any product that shows signs of use, handling marks, or contamination is not eligible for return under any circumstance.
🧼 Hygiene & Used Product Policy (Critical)
Due to strict hygiene, biosecurity, and safety standards, any product placed inside or around a bird's cage is considered used and cannot be returned, exchanged, or credited under any circumstance.
This includes:
- Trial use of any duration
- Brief placement on or near a cage
- "Testing" with a bird present in the room
- Products removed from sealed packaging and exposed to a bird environment
This policy is strictly enforced to protect product safety and all customers.
🔩 Fitment, Mounting & Handling Disclaimer
It is the owner's responsibility to ensure the Seed Cube is securely and correctly mounted before use. We are not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, unstable placement, or unsuitable cage selection.
We recommend:
- Mounting internally for the first trial, as this restricts bird access to the hooks
- Supervising your bird closely when introducing the Cube
- Confirming the mount is stable before leaving the cage unattended
If your bird, child, or pet knocks the feeder off shortly after fitting, this is not a product fault. Damage caused by incorrect fitment or mounting decisions is not covered.
💥 Impact, Drops & Handling Disclaimer
Once delivered and opened, responsibility for handling transfers to the owner immediately.
- Dropping the Seed Cube is not a warranty issue
- Cracking caused by a fall, knock, or impact is not a product fault
- This applies whether the product is dropped seconds after opening or months into ownership
The Seed Cube is manufactured from thick, high-quality acrylic for strength and longevity in normal use. Acrylic is strong in service but, like glass, is not designed to absorb impact.
If the feeder falls due to incorrect fitment, unsecured hooks, cage setup, or interaction from birds, pets, or children, any resulting damage is the responsibility of the owner.
A bird feeder falling and cracking does not indicate a manufacturing defect. The Seed Cube is a bird feeder, not an impact-rated product.
📮 How to Return an Item
You must contact us first at hello@seedcube.com.au before returning anything. We will provide return instructions and the correct address.
Please do not mark your parcel as 'Return to Sender' without approval. This causes delays and incurs extra fees that will be deducted from your store credit.
💰 Change of Mind Deductions
If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, we will deduct the real costs incurred in fulfilling your order. These are not penalties; they are operating costs we cannot recover.
Deductions include:
- The difference between flat-rate shipping charged and actual shipping cost paid
- Payment processing fees retained by PayPal, Afterpay, Shopify Payments, or similar
- A $15 handling and admin fee, applied at our discretion
- Unreturned free gifts, bonus items, or promotional inclusions charged at full retail price
Free Gifts & Promotional Items
If your order included a free gift, bonus item, or promotional inclusion (such as a waffle cleaning cloth, Birdie Puck, sample pack, or gift-with-purchase), all items from the original order must be returned together to qualify for store credit.
If any free gift or promotional item is not returned, or is returned used, damaged, or contaminated:
- The full retail price of that item will be deducted from your store credit
- This applies regardless of whether the item was marked as "free", "bonus", "gift", or "complimentary" at checkout
- Promotional pricing and bundle discounts are conditional on the full order being returned intact
Example: You purchased a $49.95 Seed Cube that included a free waffle cleaning cloth (RRP $14.99) and paid via PayPal. Shipping was charged at $9.95, actual shipping cost $18.40, and PayPal retained $1.95. You return the Seed Cube but keep the waffle cloth.
Your store credit = $9.61 after deductions of $8.45 shipping shortfall, $1.95 payment fee, $15 handling fee, and $14.99 for the unreturned cloth.
Store credit is our standard resolution. Refunds to the original payment method are not offered.
Personal Circumstances
If your situation involves loss of a pet, rehoming, surrendering, moving house, downsizing, or unexpected health changes, please contact us. We review each case individually and aim for a fair outcome, provided we are not left out of pocket for costs already incurred. Store credit remains the standard resolution.
🔍 Return Processing
All returns are inspected on arrival.
- Passes inspection: store credit issued (less deductions)
- Fails inspection: we notify you, and return shipping back to you is at your cost
- Arrives damaged or contaminated: no store credit issued, no return shipped back unless you cover freight
Return Shipping
- Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer
- International customers must arrange their own return service and cover all costs
- We do not reimburse return shipping under any circumstance
Store Credit Timing
Store credit is issued within 10 business days of passing inspection. If you have not received it within 15 days, contact hello@seedcube.com.au.
🚫 Non-Returnable Items
- ❌ Used, trialled, or cage-exposed products
- ❌ Any item exposed to a bird environment
- ❌ Perishable items including food, seed, and consumables
- ❌ Custom-made, personalised, or special-order items
- ❌ Clearance, sale, or final-sale items
- ❌ Gift cards and store credit
✏️ Order Changes (Before Shipping)
Need to change an order before dispatch? Email us as soon as possible. If there is a price difference, store credit will be issued for the balance. Once dispatched, changes are not possible.
🔧 Warranty & Faulty Item Policy
We stand by our product quality. If your Seed Cube develops a genuine manufacturing fault, we will make it right, provided the issue was not caused by misuse, improper fitment, drops, or cage setup.
Warranty Process
- Contact hello@seedcube.com.au with a clear description of the issue
- Attach photos, video, and any other evidence we request
- We will assess and advise next steps within 5 business days
If the Product is Faulty
We will advise whether the item needs to be returned or can be retained. Resolution may include replacement parts, a replacement product, or store credit at our discretion.
If Courier Damage Occurred
Send clear photos of the outer packaging, internal packaging, and the damaged item within 48 hours of delivery. We lodge claims with the carrier on your behalf. Better documentation means faster resolution.
What Warranty Does Not Cover
- Drops, knocks, or impact damage of any kind
- Damage from incorrect fitment, mounting, or unstable installation
- Damage from birds, pets, or children
- Wear, scratches, or marks from normal use
- Cosmetic variation in acrylic, hardware, or printed components
- Cleaning damage from harsh chemicals, abrasives, or dishwashers
- Modifications, repairs, or alterations made by the customer
- Issues raised outside the warranty period
Customer Cooperation
To resolve a warranty claim efficiently, we need your help. Please respond promptly to requests for photos, video, or information. Claims that go unanswered for 14 days will be closed.
🚨 Fraud Prevention & Abuse
Retail return fraud is rising. To protect our business and our customers:
- All returns are photographed and documented on arrival and dispatch
- We reserve the right to refuse service, returns, or warranty claims for anyone found abusing our policies
- We reserve the right to refuse claims where instructions have not been followed, mounting options have not been attempted, or the product has been used or exposed to a bird
- All claims are assessed case by case, and our decision is final
AI-Generated Image Detection
To prevent fraudulent claims using fabricated or AI-generated evidence, all damage, fitment, and warranty claims must be supported by:
- A minimum of two clear photographs taken from different angles, showing the product, the damage or issue, and the surrounding context (cage, packaging, or environment)
- A short video (10 to 30 seconds) showing the product, the damage or issue, and the cage or installation setup in a single continuous take
- Original, unedited files where requested. Screenshots, cropped images, or files stripped of metadata may be rejected
All submitted images and video are run through our AI image detection and authenticity verification system. Any media flagged as AI-generated, digitally manipulated, sourced from the internet, or otherwise inauthentic will result in:
- Immediate rejection of the claim
- Permanent refusal of service to the customer
- Potential reporting to relevant fraud authorities and payment providers
Genuine claims have nothing to worry about. This system exists to protect honest customers from rising rates of return and warranty fraud across the industry.
