Seed Cube Cleaning Kit: The Complete Bird-Safe Cleaning Solution
This kit pairs our premium Feather-Touch Cloth with Vetafarm Avicare Ready to Use disinfectant, giving you everything you need to keep your Seed Cube, perches, toys, and cage surfaces clean and hygienic.
The 350gsm waffle-weave microfibre lifts dirt and droppings without scratching acrylic or stainless steel. Use it dry for dusting, damp for general cleaning, or wet for stubborn messes. For deeper sanitisation, microwave the damp cloth for 30 seconds before use.
Avicare is effective even in dirty environments with up to 20% organic matter. Spray it on clean surfaces, let it sit for five minutes, and allow to air dry. No rinsing required for disinfection.
A weekly clean with this kit helps prevent bacterial buildup in seed trays, on perches, and inside your Seed Cube, keeping your bird's feeding area safe and hygienic.

General Cleaning (Cloth Only):
Use the cloth dry for dusting perches, cage bars, and play stands. Dampen with water for cleaning your Seed Cube, acrylic surfaces, and toys. Wet and wring out for heavily soiled areas or dried-on droppings.
Sanitising the Cloth:
Microwave the damp cloth for 30 seconds to kill common avian bacteria before wiping down perches and feeding stations.
Disinfecting with Avicare:
Remove visible dirt such as faeces, seed waste, or leftover food. Spray Avicare on clean surfaces. Allow to sit for five minutes. Let air dry. No rinsing required.
Weekly Deep Clean:
Remove your bird from the area. Wipe down surfaces with the damp cloth to remove loose debris. Spray Avicare on the Seed Cube, perches, toys, and food bowls. Wait five minutes. Wipe dry with the cloth or allow to air dry.
Important Notes:
Always remove your bird from the area before cleaning. Do not use Avicare in fish tanks or on aquatic equipment. Store Avicare below 30°C. Shelf life is three years from date of manufacture.
Cloth Care:
Machine wash with mild liquid detergent. No bleach. No fabric softener. Wash separately from cotton or linting materials. Tumble dry on low heat only.
Is Avicare safe to use around my bird?
Yes. Avicare is formulated by veterinarians specifically for use around birds and pets. It leaves no harsh residues and contains no artificial fragrances or colours. Remove your bird from the area during cleaning and allow surfaces to dry before returning them.
Can I use the cloth without Avicare?
Yes. The microfibre cloth cleans effectively with water alone for everyday wipe-downs. Use Avicare for weekly disinfection or when you need to kill bacteria, viruses, or fungi.
Will Avicare damage my Seed Cube?
No. Avicare is safe for use on acrylic, stainless steel, and plastic surfaces. It will not cloud or scratch your Seed Cube.
How often should I disinfect?
A weekly deep clean with Avicare is recommended for most households. If your bird is unwell or you have multiple birds, increase frequency as needed.
Do I need to rinse after using Avicare?
For disinfection, no rinsing is required. Spray, wait five minutes, and let air dry. For cleaning where you scrub off visible dirt, rinse and dry before reuse.
Can I wash the cloth with other laundry?
No. Wash the microfibre cloth separately from cotton and other linting materials. Lint clogs the fibres and reduces cleaning performance.
How long does the cloth last?
With proper care, the cloth can handle hundreds of washes. Avoid bleach and high heat to extend its life.
