Forage Gourmet Shell Grit is a premium natural mineral supplement made from crushed shells, specifically designed to provide essential calcium for your birds. This medium-grade shell grit serves as a soluble calcium source that birds can self-regulate when offered separately from their regular food, making it different from insoluble gizzard grit used by some species for grinding seed.

Perfect for doves, pigeons, and poultry who benefit from regular access to calcium, this supplement supports strong bone development and robust eggshell formation in laying birds. For parrots, many species do not require grit, but if you choose to offer it, provide only very small amounts in a separate dish following your avian veterinarian's guidance.

Feeding Guidelines:

Serve in a separate dish so birds can self-regulate their calcium intake. Replace frequently to keep clean and dry. For parrots, offer sparingly and discontinue if you notice over-consumption. Always provide fresh water and a balanced diet suitable for your species. Use a shallow ceramic or stainless dish - we do not recommend placing shell grit inside acrylic feeders.

• Doves and Pigeons (regular access appropriate)
• Poultry and backyard hens (free-choice access supports eggshell quality)
• Medium to large parrots (very small amounts only, seek vet guidance)
• Softbills (offer only on veterinary advice)
