  • Regular feeding: Add 1 large scoop Neocare + 1 large scoop boiling water; mix with fork for 30 seconds; add 3 small scoops cool water; mix for 2 minutes until smooth
  • Feed between 5-6am and 10-11pm; allow crop to fully empty once per 24 hours
  • Temperature must be 38-41°C (100-106°F); do not microwave
  • Feeding frequency and volume vary by age and species; weigh chicks daily
  • Use a fork (not spoon) for mixing to achieve smooth consistency
  • Never mix with other supplements unless advised by vet; Neocare is nutritionally complete on its own
Store in a dry area below 30 degrees Celsius. Shelf life is 2 years from date of manufacture. Keep in an airtight container once opened to maintain freshness.

Can I use Neocare for adult birds?
No. Neocare is formulated specifically for hand-reared chicks from hatching to weaning. Adult birds need maintenance pellets like Nutriblend or Parrot Essentials. Neocare's high protein (21%) and fat (15%) are essential for growth; they're inappropriate for adults.

Why can't I refrigerate mixed formula?
Refrigeration encourages bacterial growth and degrades the probiotics and enzymes that support gut health. Always mix fresh for each feed. Discard any leftover formula after feeding.

Can I add supplements to Neocare?
No. Neocare is a complete, veterinary-balanced formula. Adding supplements will unbalance nutrition and may harm the chick. Do not add vitamins, minerals, or other products unless specifically advised by your avian vet.

What if my chick won't accept the formula?
Ensure temperature is correct (38-41°C), consistency is smooth with no lumps, and mixing is thorough using a fork. If a chick refuses multiple feeds, consult your vet immediately; refusal may indicate crop issues or infection.

Should I use an electrolyte formula before Neocare?
If hand-feeding from hatching, yes. Feed an electrolyte formula for the first 24+ hours or until the chick passes its first dropping. Then transition to Neocare at a runny consistency, gradually thickening over 48 hours.

What bird species can I feed Neocare to?
Neocare is suitable for all hand-reared baby birds including parrots, cockatoos, finches, canaries, doves and pigeons. The nutritional profile supports growth across all avian species.

Maintenance Pellets are a clean, natural-coloured everyday diet with no added flavours or sugars.

Parrot Essentials offers the same complete nutrition but includes 5 percent real fruit, 5 percent seasonal nuts and a blueberry flavour to encourage feeding and enrichment.

Yes. Vetafarm pellets are complete and balanced. They should make up 80 percent of your bird’s daily diet. The remaining 20 percent can include fresh fruit, vegetables and occasional treat foods like nuts or seeds.

Only the pellet size is different. The nutritional content is the same.

  • Mini is suited to small birds like cockatiels, conures and lovebirds.
  • Small works for ringnecks, Alexandrines and amazons.
  • Large is best for cockatoos, macaws and African greys.

Parrot B-Calm is a complete pellet diet that supports birds prone to anxiety or nervous behaviour. It contains L-tryptophan to support mood balance. It is non-sedative and safe for daily feeding as your bird’s main food.

Start with a 50:50 mix of your current seed and Vetafarm pellets. Gradually reduce the seed over one to two weeks. Birds often accept fruit-flavoured pellets like Nutriblend or Parrot Essentials more easily during transition.

Nectar Pellets are low in sugar, tidy to feed and nutritionally complete.

Forest Fusion includes ingredients like dates, bee pollen and blueberry for flavour and gut health.

Both should make up 80 percent of the diet, supported by fresh fruit for enrichment.

Yes. Avicare is a hospital-grade disinfectant that kills bacteria, viruses and fungi. It is safe for use on Seed Cubes, perches, toys, food bowls and most surfaces in your bird’s space. Always remove your bird before cleaning and allow items to dry fully before reuse.

Yes. Vetafarm pellets can be used as the base diet while Forage blends add natural variety. Many customers feed pellets as 80 percent of the diet and use seed, vegetables and fruit to complete the remaining 20 percent.
