All bird owners maintaining continuous microgreen production
- 6x Micropod Grow Mats (100% natural jute plant-based fibre)
- Single-use design, one mat per crop
- 100% compostable after harvest
- Place mat into Micropod honeycomb tray
- Sow seeds evenly across moistened mat
- Mist daily; keep mat moist but not waterlogged
- Harvest after 8-12 days depending on variety and temperature
- Rinse harvested microgreens and finely chop before mixing into daily chop
- Rotate brassicas (red cabbage, mizuna, pak choi, mustard) with non-brassicas (pea, sunflower, wheatgrass) throughout the week
- Store harvested microgreens dry and unwashed in vented container with paper towel; rinse just before serving
Why jute instead of soil?
Jute is soil-free, clean, and mess-free. No dirt around bird cages. Provides optimal moisture retention and root support. Completely compostable when done.
How many mats do I need?
Six mats per pack. Enough for six growing cycles. If growing continuously, reorder before running out to maintain uninterrupted supply.
Can I reuse mats?
No. Single-use design. After harvest, compost the mat with roots intact.
What do I do with the used mat?
Compost it. Throw directly into garden compost or bin. Breaks down completely. No cleaning needed.
Are these mats compatible with other systems?
No. Precisely sized for Micropod trays and honeycomb grills only.
