Harvest timeline: 8-12 days per cycle depending on variety and room temperature. After harvest, store microgreens dry and unwashed in fridge with paper towel; rinse just before serving. Remove uneaten portions after 2 hours. Used mats are compostable. Pods and lids are dishwasher safe (top rack) or hand wash. Wipe beechwood base clean. Store in cool, dry place when not in use.

How do I create a continuous harvest?
Stagger sowing across the 4 pods. Sow pod 1 on day 1, pod 2 on day 3, pod 3 on day 6, pod 4 on day 9. This creates rolling 8-12 day cycles. Every week, one pod is ready to harvest while others are at different growing stages.

What if I forget the sowing schedule?
Staggering is optional. You can sow all 4 pods at once and harvest together. You'll get 4 weeks of greens, then wait. Or sow whenever you want fresh harvests. The system is flexible.

Does it come with seeds?
Yes. Six mats included (3x Mizuna, 3x Red Cabbage). Start growing immediately.

Can I use different varieties in each pod?
Yes. Sow Mizuna in pod 1, Red Cabbage in pod 2, etc. Each pod grows independently. Mix and match varieties across your rotation.

Can I use my own seeds?
Yes. Once you finish the included mats, buy Micropod Grow Mats (pre-seeded) or sow your own untreated seeds directly onto the mats.

How many mats do I need per week?
With staggered sowing, you harvest 1 pod per week. One mat per pod. Kit comes with 6 mats, enough for 6 weeks. After that, reorder Grow Mats refills to keep going.

Can I use this for human consumption too?
Yes. Same fresh, nutrient-dense microgreens. Both you and your birds eat the same harvest.

What's the beechwood base for?
Structural support. Holds 3 of the 4 pods in an organized, countertop-friendly layout. Keep the 4th pod on a separate shelf or countertop.

Can I wash the beechwood?
Yes. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak or put in dishwasher. Air dry. Light food-safe oil occasionally helps maintain the wood.

How much space does this take?
Compact countertop footprint. 3 pods on the beechwood base, 1 pod separate. Takes up roughly the space of a small cutting board or toaster.

Why Choose Microgreens For Your Birds

Homegrown microgreens are rich in vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that support feather health, digestion, and energy. Grown fresh in your own kitchen, they add colour, crunch, and hydration to daily chop while encouraging natural foraging. With soft stems and leaves that even small birds accept, Micropod makes it simple to rotate fresh greens through the week for balance and variety.

Clean, Soil-Free Growing

Micropod uses natural grow mats instead of soil, keeping benches, windowsills, and cage areas neat. No dirt, no mess, just clean, fresh greens ready for your bird’s diet.

Fast and Reliable Harvests

Seeds germinate quickly and are ready to snip in 8–14 days. A simple cycle of sow, water, and harvest keeps your bird supplied with fresh greens.

Nutritious and Bird-Friendly

Tender stems and leaves are easy for birds to accept, from budgies through to cockatoos. They bring natural texture and hydration to chop while supporting overall health.

Compact and Easy to Grow

With its small footprint, Micropod fits on a sunny sill or kitchen bench. No special lights or equipment required, just water and natural light.
